Area of Responsibility – Leadership & Associate development
• Manage the career and technical skill development of all direct and indirect reports that will enable them to provide more effective leadership and support to key business customers.
• Complete Annual Work and Development plans for each Associate to provide performance feedback to Associates and align Associate career development with functional objectives.
• Ensure opportunities exist to broaden skill development and encourage growth in both functional and operational areas of the Company.
• Provide leadership to F&A career planning process to help ensure that future job transitions are proactively managed, including new hire recruitment.
• Ensure effective communication of relevant information to ensure Associate understanding of the Company’s business.
• Drive cohesion among direct reports and facilitate integration across all elements of the supply chain.
Area of Responsibility – Lead Operations F&A Staff through effective leadership and oversight, by managing the financial analysis, cost accounting processes and workflows for Operations and Technology functions. Also oversee the financial and strategic support to the VP’s of Operations, Technology and Procurement.
• Coordinate and provide monthly reporting and analysis of Technology and consolidated Operations financial performance. Identify and provide analysis of performance drivers common across locations. Lead the Operations quarterly review.
• Develop new financial reporting approaches in conjunction with the Manager – Marketing Finance & Accounting, Plant Financial Analysts, and Operations Associates.
• Align functional priorities with Vice President – Operations, Vice President – Procurement and Vice President - Technology to ensure financial support is provided for key operational initiatives.
• Coordinate special analyses as directed to analyze potential impact on plant cost structure, communicate recommendations to plant and executive staff as appropriate.
• Ensure quality plant support is provided to all production and distribution facility locations and customer functions such as the Supply Chain Management and Technology organizations.
• Oversee the financial reporting, planning, and analysis to support cost accounting, plant operations, month end close, and other various financial projects.
• Coordinate and manage the strategic planning process for Operations and Technology by providing projections for plant expenses, capital spending, and cost analysis through the appropriate Associates.
• Oversee & facilitate the cost accounting processes and analysis to ensure proper standards calculation, variance analysis and month end procedures are followed. Roll up and report to appropriate management the outcome from the costing processes.
Area of Responsibility – Procurement F&A Support Through the Manager – Marketing F&A
• Provide direction and guidance to Procurement F&A, ensuring alignment between Milk Procurement and F&A functional management.
• Drive prioritization of goals and objectives, ensuring focus on key corporate and functional initiatives.
• Review presentations made to senior management to improve effectiveness of reporting.
• Review and provide guidance for various analyses of the financial impact of Procurement activities and initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from an accredited four-year college with a major in Accounting or Finance; MBA is preferred but not required.
Experience
The successful candidate will have strong financial analysis skills and at least ten years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of five years spent in managerial roles. The candidate should have a minimum of five years of cost accounting experience.
