Description
Major Duties
Responsible for designing the required mechanisms and selecting and integrating a broad spectrum of components and subsystems including: robotics, servo axis, pneumatics, fluidics dispensing systems, vibratory feeders, lasers, vision, sensors, and conveyors.



Desired Background in Wet Bench Technology:



Design of fully enclosed chemical delivery systems that automatically loads single or multiple batches of product into an exhausted work station for production applications where process control, repeatability, throughput and safety are required. Wet bench systems are often robot loaded and sequence processed through a series of one or more chemical and rinse baths, then through a drying system, returning them to an Output buffer.

Specific Responsibilities
Create designs that satisfy contract specifications and all applicable design standards while meeting material budget constraints.
Perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs.
Analyze engineering drawings, and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness etc. in the development of equipment, processes and products.
Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering Manager to create and monitor Engineering Deliverables plan to meet the overall project schedule.
Define and execute a recovery plan if Deliverables are not completed on schedule.
Review and update labor estimates weekly and identify under or over capacity utilization situations.
Give technical direction to Toolmakers, Technicians, and Machinists as needed.
Consult regularly with Project Managers to report status, raise issues, take direction, and help where needed.
Present designs during internal and Customer project reviews.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to arrive at designs that are optimized for manufacturing ease while still meeting all functional requirements.
Follow all applicable ISO procedures.
Promote a positive professional image of company internally and externally.
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the company Code of Business Conduct.
Adhere to all health and Safety rules & procedures.

Qualifications
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent, specializing in mechanical design or mechanical engineering. BSME degree preferred.
Knowledge of wet chemical processing and the use of construction materials that are compatible with strong acids, bases and solvents
Background in popular drying technologies is desired
Three years’ experience designing complex automation systems for the semiconductor, electronics, fiber optics, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industries.
Proficiency with solid modeling (Solidworks or ProE preferred) and ability to detail machined and fabricated parts to ANSI standards.
Must be capable of designing tooling from sketches or verbal concepts.
Must follow an organized, disciplined approach to the design process.
Superior verbal and written communication skills to handle pressure with Customers, Vendors, Engineers, Technicians, Machinists, and other team members.
Successful experience troubleshooting complex equipment during project startup phases.
Valid State Driver’s License required.
