JOB SUMMARY:
A Detailer for Sierra Reinforcing will create (draw) placing sheets used by ironworkers to complete reinforced concrete projects. The Detailer will accurately figure the amount of rebar to be placed inside the project and submit bar lists for fabrication. The detailer will revise shop drawings (placing sheets) when revised construction drawings are received and submit patch lists/change orders as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review construction documents and understand scope of work to detail.
• Coordinate with Project Manger and Field Superintendant to ensure material and placing sheets are received when needed.
• Use Microstation to detail placing sheets in a timely manner.
• Make and submit accurate bar lists for fabrication and placement.
• Submit RFI’s as needed.
• Revise placing sheets and submit patch lists/change orders as needed.
• Maintain and manage the filing of shop drawings in an organized fashion
• Inform immediate supervisor of any differences between estimated weight and detailed weight.
• Scan, print and photocopy documents and plans as needed.
• Check with Project Manager & Field Superintendant for ways to improve shop drawings and bar lists.
• Willingly act as a member of a team for the benefit of the company.
• Keep a clean and clutter free environment.

Education and Experience:
Must have experience with AutoCAD or similar program. Must have ability to read and understand Civil, Architectural, and Structural plans. Must have a clear understanding of the construction process. A qualified applicant should have a comprehensive understanding of most concrete reinforcing products and procedures. Preferred to have 1 to 2 years of rebar detailing experience.
Language Skills
Read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos in English. Write simple and also complex correspondence in English. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
AutoCAD or similar program experience a must. Experience using aSa a plus. To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the ability to quickly learn new software packages and have the knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the Internet.
