We reward individual initiative, individual creativity, and individual contributions for our team projects. We currently have an opening for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in our Salt Lake City office.
Engineer will be responsible for design, development and documentation of plastic enclosures and user interfaces for electronic devices. Primary tasks will include creation of 3-dimensional mechanical CAD designs for new communications products, resolution of mechanical and acoustic design issues, and manufacturing transfer. Some international travel will be required to facilitate manufacturing transfer.
REQUIRED CRITICAL SKILLS
•Must possess a strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, and design evaluation techniques.
•Demonstrated ability to create mechanical designs for plastic enclosures for electronic products using Pro/Engineer Wildfire. Demonstrated ability to use prototype models in order to minimize the number of prototype turns.
•Strong communications skills and ability to work with development team including industrial designers, electrical engineers, product marketing managers and project managers.

Qualifications
BSME or equivalent plus 5+ years of proven experience in design and development of plastic enclosures for electronic hardware for commercial or consumer equipment from initial design through production is required. Some experience with rack mount metal enclosure design is also desired. All experience must be in the electronic products industry with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes including tooling for plastics. Design experience with Pro Engineer Wildfire is essential. Experience must include creating manufacturing assembly and packaging documentation, developing injection molded plastic components and specifying elastomers and actuators for user interfaces.
